Festa do Albariño

Cambados, Galicia Jul 28 - Aug 01, 2027

The Festa do Albariño in Cambados is Spain's premier white wine festival, celebrating the Rías Baixas region's world-famous grape. Five days of wine tastings, Galician seafood, folk music, and cultural events in a charming coastal town.

Highlights

  • Official tastings of dozens of Rías Baixas Albariño wines
  • Best Albariño of the Year award
  • Galician seafood: percebes, pulpo, oysters
  • National Tourist Interest designation
  • Beautiful Rías Baixas coastal setting
  • Traditional Galician folk music and dancing

Every first week of August, the granite-paved plazas of Cambados transform into an open-air wine celebration. The Festa do Albariño honours the grape that has made the Rías Baixas denomination one of the world's most respected white wine regions.

The festival features official wine tastings, where dozens of local bodegas present their latest vintages. Paired with Galician seafood — percebes, pulpo, and fresh oysters from the ría — it's a gastronomic paradise. A jury awards the Best Albariño of the year.

Beyond wine, the festival includes traditional Galician music, folk dancing, street markets, and a spectacular fireworks display over the Ría de Arousa.

History & Origins

The first Festa do Albariño was held in 1953, making it one of Spain's oldest wine festivals. It was declared a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest in 1998. The festival has played a crucial role in promoting Albariño internationally.
